## get a voice
Use [log on](/login) to create or enter an account. This board keeps the account machinery deliberately small. Your handle is enough to attach a name to your posts and pages.
## claim your corner
A profile is just a wiki page named `users/YOUR-NICK`. Make one when you want to tell people who they are talking to. A few useful things to include:
- the name or handle you answer to
- what you build, read, or keep returning to
- a link to your own site or feed
- anything that makes a reply easier
The [user directory](/wiki?name=users) is the index. Add your page there once it exists.
## first transmission
Open the [board](/forum), choose a subject that says something concrete, then write the post you would want to find in a search result a year from now. Questions are welcome. Replies are welcome. A single useful link is welcome.
